More Sandals Please!

So, I was a little behind on summer footwear but I would like to think I am making up for lost time. I really wanted to find some cute sandals for a bargain. Instead of hitting up the mall, or going to my usual places, I looked elsewhere. Then I remembered we have wholesale stores where leftover inventory of high end labels are sold to places like TJ Maxx and Marshalls. Like any store, if you look hard enough you can find a couple cute bargains. I decided to take a chance and browse around through TJ Maxx to see if I came across a good find and I did! I discovered these cute Steve Madden sandals for under $25. I love it when I find deals like these. So word to the wise, never rule out wholesale stores. Designers often produce too great an inventory and are forced to negotiate deals to get rid it. More often then not, places like TJ Maxx negotiate major savings on designer labels that then get passed on to you!

What will we do without you, LC?

Anyone who knows me knows that I love The Hills. There are only two episodes left! And, it was announced that Lauren Conrad will be leaving the show and "replaced" by Kristen Cavallari. Not to psyched about that. I was never her biggest fan. Honestly, Whitney left and now Lauren? I don't know what the show will be like without them. It may be the end of the show for me as well. Too bad...

While I'm on the topic of The Hills, Lauren had to fire Stephanie on this week's episode. It is sad to say but I couldn't help but laugh throughout the whole thing. I mean really, Stephanie?! I know the show is somewhat scripted and they edit it to make people appear a certain way but I really hope you are smarter than this show makes you look. If I looked like that on television, I would cry. She can't be that retarded, can she?!

Seeing as though The Hills might be going down the drain, anyone know when The City is coming back?! hehe

I Am A Bad Girl

My friend came into town to visit me and we decided to take up our favorite pastime, shopping! We hit up the mall and did a little too much damage. These days, when money is tight, the ultimate goal is to get the more for less. One of my favorite places to visit in order to find trendy but inexpensive apparel is Forever 21. Let's just say, I haven't shopped in awhile so I bought more than I should have...but I found a lot of cute stuff.

Another problem is everything I tend to pick out is majority, if not all black. Yes, it is summer and I am buying 5 black pieces in one outing. There is no doubt it is one of my favorite colors to wear. However, for all those black fanatics out there, I think I have managed to make black work for summer. There are tons of short black minidresses. The trick is to keep it casual by keeping the material thin and making sure the pattern has at-least a pop of color. I bought this one below as a cute way to incorporate black into a summer dress. It is short and sleeveless which takes the edge off. I call it the picnic dress.

Here are a couple of other things I bought. They are mostly black but I think I will be able to pull it off even now in the summertime. I believe you can wear black all year long. Plus, sometimes you can find really good deals by buying these styles in the summer. For example, I got found the boots pictured below for just 6 bucks! Maybe it pays off to be out of season!

Denim is back?

There has been recent buzz about bringing back the denim jacket. I was a little surprised to see them make a comeback. Don't get me wrong..a jean jacket has its place in the wardrobe but a very small one. As soon as a I see one, I have flashbacks to more than a decade ago. I'm not sure if these flashbacks should creep back into the present. Overall, I am not a huge fan because it gives me the impression of too much youth and innocence. It has always been my personal style to favor more mature, assertive pieces. However, I have seen some modern adaptations of the classic trend that I feel transforms the denim jacket into a modern day must have. I really like the Denim Moto Jacket by Tara Subkoff available at Bebe and the 7 For All Mankind Mars Jacket. These jackets work for modern day because they are more fitted than the classic jacket from back in the day and they have the three-quarter length sleeve, which makes for a more feministic look. There it is, that is my two cents on denim jackets.

Steve Madden, Walk My Way!

So I know it is summer and I'm looking at "winter" heels but you always can use another pair of dark pumps. At least that's my philosophy! I love these Steve Madden suede high top pumps. It is like a cross between a heel and a boot. It works because it is a fresh new idea that I haven't seen before. This is the newest addition to my wish list.

My New Fav!

I have discovered my new favorite style icon. A diamond in the rough! I was flipping through some fashion photos from recent parties and galas and spotted a stunning Diane Kruger. I absolutely love her style and every picture I saw of her made me envious! This is her in Marchesa..too cute! She made appearances at many of this springs shows looking oh so gorgeous. She is definitely one to look out for when it comes to personal style. She's my new go to girl.

Looking back..

I was looking over the fall Accessory Report found on style.com to reflect on all the cute things I had missed out on. I have to say the selections picked as the best for the fall were hit and miss. Some of the accessories I am sad to see go and some I question should have even hit the runway. Among my favorites were..
