Louboutin Doesn't Come Cheap

I blogged about Christian Louboutin's Dillian shoe not too long ago. Yes, I am still mesmerized by its beauty. In fact, I came across it at Bergdorf Goodman online. Anyone want to take a guess at the price tag? ...drumroll...

Try $2875. Beauty doesn't come cheap.

Hermès Fall Line

We thought all air access ended with aviator sunglasses. Well according to Hermès, it's only the beginning. Fans of the french label will be more than ready to take flight this fall with this aeronautically inspired collection. Rich leathers and skins trademark the new line. I was drawn to it because of the reliance on strong neutrals such as black, brown, beige, and gray. I love a good neutral color. Ha! I really like the combination of a bagey sweater and full-leg suede boots. Comfortable yet sophisticated. I can see this look popping up all along New York streets this fall.

Christian Siriano In My Backyard?

I just found out that Christian Siriano's collection is available here in my home state, North Carolina. That never happens! His pieces are available at Coplons, a boutique located in Charlotte. That wouldn't be too far of a drive from the coast. Next time I am there I am definitely dropping in. I love him, yay!

A Splash of Color at CFDA Awards

This year's CFDA Awards showcased a wide array of bright summer colors. The select few best dressed attendees chose vibrant colors creating a rainbow of cute summer minis to hit the red carpet. Here are a few of my top picks:

Diane Kruger in Jason Wu

            Blake Lively in Michael Kors

Maggie Grace in Christian Siriano

                    Emmanuelle Chriqui

A Darker Katie

I came across the new Miu Miu campaign featuring Katie Holmes. The ads showcase a very edgy and dark Mrs. Cruise. I have to say, I really like it. I wouldn't have pictured Katie to model any Miu Miu line but I stand corrected!

I'm on an iPod?

I was playing around with certain images for a web design project. I was inspired by the new iPod commercials to try and take one of their images and personalize it. After messing around with Photoshop, this is what I came up with. I think it's funny and cool. I plan to put this on my web site, which is currently under construction (haha).

Hit or Miss?

As the votes came pouring in, it looked like Lauren Conrad's appearance in this Moschino dress was going to get a rave review. It was a unique look for The Hills star. I wish I could agree but it does not pass as a hit for me. The shape is somewhat odd and doesn't quite flatter her figure. I can't put my figure on it but something about the bodice doesn't quite look right. All in all, it just looks a bit awkward. I found myself tilting my head to the side as if to try and see it in a way that made sense but I had no luck. Lauren admits that this dress was actually her backup to one that was not tailored properly. I hope Lauren has better backups than this! The only critic I found to agree with me on this one is Jessica from Go Fug Yourself. It seems we are the only ones that see this look for what it truly is...a miss.

Season Finale of The Hills

The events that took place during the hour season finale of The Hills were definitely dramatic but not entirely surprising. We all knew there were going to be shockers. For example, we knew that Lauren would end up attending the wedding and that Kristin would make an appearance solely because media coverage broke the news before the show ending up airing on MTV.

I have to say I was disappointed that Lauren ended up attending "Speidi's" wedding at the last minute. She put up all this talk about how showing up would be an act of supporting something she did not agree with and claimed she couldn't do that. However, once again the producers win out. In the after-show interview with Lauren, she admits the producers pressured her about attending the wedding. Both the producers and best bud, Brody, convinced her that she would regret not going to the most important event in Heidi's life. I believe it was all just one big scheme to provide for a surprise twist to the end of the season. I really wish Lauren would have stuck up for how she felt and chose not to attend. It just goes to show that you can persuade anyone to do anything. Oh well, my LC stock just plummeted.

Now that Lauren is leaving, the show's producers are trying to reinvent the show by replacing her with the return of Kristen Cavallari. The only thing this sneaky maneuver shows is how desperate producers are to keep The Hills as one of the top reality shows. They just need to realize that no LC equals no Hills. Period.

The Shows of Yesterday

Today, I found myself sifting through old shows that I used to watch religiously and have seem to disappear with the time. What did I stumble across today? I watched an episode of Everwood online. It has been quite a while since this series aired on what was The WB. I forgot how much I loved this show! I found many episodes available online to watch at my leisure. Now, all I need is a day with nothing planned so I can have my own personal Everwood marathon. Sometimes it is nice to revisit past television series that got you through :)

Leighton Knocks 'Em Dead

After watching the MTV Music Awards, there were some hits and misses on the red carpet. However, I am happy to say there were a lot of hits. My pick for best dressed is clearly Leighton Meester in a Emilio De La Morena cut-out dress. The form fitting dress accentuates her cute figure in the most flattering way. The dress introduces a modern twist on a classic, little black dress. I found the cut-outs to be very edgy and appealing to the eye. I couldn't help but take multiple second glances as if the dress was a puzzle I was dying to figure it out. Her dress was a much improved fashion statement compared to her Louis Vuitton ensemble at the MET Costume Institute Gala last month. She found a way to still be unique without going overboard. Congrats Leighton. You have won my vote as best dressed!
